Project information
Circle is a passion volunteer project that I embarked on in collaboration with a dedicated social worker, with the shared goal of providing at-risk youth with easier access to vital services. Recognizing the importance of creating an engaging and accessible platform, we set out to design an app that not only addresses the serious nature of its purpose but also resonates with the target audience – in short, teens like things that are cool, so we wanted to make a cool app that they would want to use.
From the outset, we prioritized clarity and simplicity in the app's structure, organizing information into clear sections that cater to individuals in crisis. By adopting intuitive navigation pathways, we aimed to empower users to locate resources quickly and efficiently, even in moments of distress.
In selecting the color palette for the app, we were mindful of the impact of color psychology on emotional well-being. Calming and supportive hues were chosen to instill a sense of comfort and reassurance, fostering a positive user experience amidst potentially challenging circumstances.
Furthermore, the UI elements were meticulously crafted to reflect the app's target demographic without resorting to stereotypes or clichés. By steering clear of overly "urban" design tropes, we aimed to create a user interface that feels inclusive and relatable to a diverse audience of at-risk youth.
In conclusion, Circle represents a collaborative effort to harness the power of technology for social good. By combining thoughtful design with a deep understanding of user needs, we have created a platform that not only provides vital support to at-risk youth but also empowers them to navigate challenges with confidence and resilience.
